COVIDActNow
We are a robotics lab and we know very well that our contribution to fight the COVID19 pandemic can only be minimal. But not zero! We must all help as much as we can. Of course this is not to say that this is the solution. But to the extent we can, we gather here some simple resources for building and manufacturing tools and products that can help in fighting the pandemic. Some of them will be linking to design of others and some will be our own designs. We will be linking things we try and attempt/succeed in manufacturing. If you are interested to be part of this bottom-up movement, please do! And if you do, maybe send us an e-mail too :)
NANOHACK MASK
We found NanoHack at this URL. NanoHack is a 3D printed mask that can be used for medical purposes, according to the website. The key is that it must be printed with specific material that has disinfecting properties. This material is PLACTIVE® an innovative Nanocomposite developed with a high quality PLA and a patented, scientifically validated and highly effective Nano-Copper additive. Follow the instructions in the process of development. Note: the photo is from a test. We are tomorrow (Monday 24 March 2020) printing with the correct material.
FACESHIELD
We found a Faceshield design in this repository and it is under GPLv3 license. Similarly we found a relevant design at PrusaPrinters.org. PrusaPrinters has a video so provide this to the right. Prusa Research calls the model "Prusa Protective Face Shield - RC2". As they also highlight "We share these files under non-commerical licence. It would be great if you donated these shields to those in need for free.[...]". So this is what we intend to do too.
